MAGNA DEO
CENTER FOR THE BIBLICAL ARTS & EDUCATION

Magna Deo declares “Great and Magnificent God.” The Magna Deo campus is an education, worship, and cultural center surrounded by artistic beauty and rooted in historical Christianity. We have created a multifaceted campus to equip articulate thinkers and creative influencers with a Biblical worldview through fine art.

Masterpiece Christian Fine Arts Foundation is the founding organization of the Magna Deo project. Founded in 2007, MCFAF has hosted traveling fine art exhibits, sponsored annual conferences and workshops and commissions artist to create Biblically-themed art for our current culture. Masterpiece carries on the tradition of classical art ideology practiced from the Renaissance down through the 19th century, teaching, exhibiting and promoting manifestations of unparalleled, technical excellence, which throughout history result in great works of lasting beauty. Contemporary artist offer their spin and current splashes of brilliance on these themes and techniques, resulting in modern artistic intrigue.

Magna Deo is now our permanent facility in Southern Oregon. We aspire to unleash the creative ambitions that uplift the human spirit with beauty and hope—blessing Southern Oregon and visitors from around the world.

The Magna Deo campus will showcase exquisite rotational exhibit of biblically themed art, including a bronze edition of “The Pieta,” one of 12 life-size castings from Michelangelo‘s 15th century original marble. The Pieta was commissioned in 1498 by French Cardinal Jean de Billheres. At 23 years old, Michelangelo constructed this timeless piece, connecting us to this poignant moment between the son of God and Mary, his mother.

We hope to inspire other artists in the same way to explore their creativity to the highest level.

Exhibits & Events

The Magna Deo Center for the Arts will present rotating fine arts exhibits of exceptional quality and technical excellence that convey a Biblical worldview. These include works by renowned contemporary artists as well as historic works.

Throughout history, art has been a vehicle self-expression used to convey opinion, perspective and emotion. It’s that emotion that often soars beyond the intellect and touches the heart in ways mere words alone cannot. Magna Deo cultivates this receptive environment as a gateway for a greater connection between the heart and mind.

Magna Deo will inspire creativity and support the aspirations of a gifted generation who want to embark on this journey of spiritual discovery to entice every human heart into finding it’s identity in the arms of a loving, Creator God.

Workshops & Classes

Magna Deo will offer a rich and evolving series of workshops and classes throughout the year, spanning disciplines such as sculpture, culinary arts, mosaic, painting, music, drama, film, and a range of other educational experiences—each designed to cultivate creativity, skill, and thoughtful engagement across the arts.

In addition, we’ll be offering courses in Biblical worldview and spiritual formation, and hosting gatherings to discuss the intersection of faith, calling, and culture.

At Magna Deo, we are committed not only to supporting and elevating artists, but to helping them grow in skill and clarity within their calling as creatives made in the image of God. Creativity is not incidental—it reflects the very nature of a Creator who, by the very expression of His mind, brought order, beauty, and meaning into the world. In the same way, the expression of those made in His image carries profound weight, shaping culture, imagination, and understanding.

To cultivate artistic excellence, then, is to steward something sacred. It is to recognize that creative work can echo truth, reveal beauty, and influence hearts in ways few other forms can. In this, artists step into a meaningful role—filling a vital gap with work that reflects both craftsmanship and divine imprint.

The Annual Ascend Conference

We are honored to host our annual Ascend Conference 2026—now entering its 20th year—a gathering devoted to equipping and inspiring the next generation of creatives.

Taking place June 25–27, this year’s conference will feature renowned, multi-talented artist Chris Hopkins, joined by returning instructor Charity Hubbard, founder of the Rogue Classical Atelier in Medford, Oregon—the state’s only Art Renewal Center–accredited school.

Centered on this year’s theme, “The Instrument,” the conference explores the vital role artists, musicians, and vocalists play in God’s Kingdom economy—cultivating skill while faithfully expressing truth and beauty through their craft.

Registration is still opens though June 21t. Creatives from across the West Coast are invited to join this energetic and inspiring gathering—designed for those who are craving more. Ascend calls artists to set their minds on things above, using their gifts to reflect the worthiness of the Creator and to shape the world with purpose.

“The paintings of Rembrandt... the fine churches, the music of Bach... Handel’s Messiah... all testify in this secularized age that Christianity once did mean something… Quite without realizing it these people, the patrons, the artist and the Christians in those days, erected signs for another age that the Lord had done great things in the world.”
